Why information is collected?

When selecting a vacation package we require personal information in order to proceed. It is necessary to have the full names of all passengers (as they appear on travel documents), the dates of birth for each passenger and the address of the person making the booking for travel planning and security protocols and a valid email address of the main booking client. Credit card information (full number, expiry date and security access code) is gathered for all purchases made online or through a telephone booking with one of our Travel Specialists. All this information is considered “personal information”.

All personal information collected during the booking process is protected by our secure network using SSL technology protocols and normal private network security systems. SSL technology also encrypts your credit card information before it is sent to the supplier / tour operator.

It is necessary to obtain your email address so we can send all itinerary information, e-tickets and other documents you may require for travel.

How information is collected and stored?

Our travel specialists and online support staff are consummate professionals who take the handling of personal and sensitive information very seriously. Whether a client is dealing with their representative in person, over the phone or by email, our privacy policy remains the same. Information is transferred into its permanent digital home where files are protected and encrypted. Hardcopies with personal information are disposed of safely and as quickly as possible.

Phone calls are recorded for quality assurance and training purposes and are kept temporarily on an internal secure server.

When personal information is shared within and outside Airbond Travel?

Travel specialists and web reservation assistants at Airbond Travel use third party software and databases to process travel arrangements and also share information with the tour operator/company and with airlines or hotel providers providing the travel product (e.g., Air Canada, Nolitours, Transat, Hotels.com, etc.), as well as payment processors. Networks used to access these travel partners are highly secure and our partners only use client information such as names, dates of birth, secured credit card information, etc. for the purposes of administration with travel plans, processing payments, fraud verification, account collection (when applicable) and  to enforce security protocols.  Procedures when accessing external databases and our internal travel and accounting database are stringent, with security being the main priority.

How sensitive personal information is handled:

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of information that is under our control. We use special encryption tools to protect your information, so the information you share in order to purchase services will only be seen by you, by us - here at Airbond.ca and with the tour operator or airline in order to complete your travel plans. Your information will only be viewed by the online representative who is processing your file and preparing your travel documents. Furthermore, a Airbond.ca IT support worker may have brief access to your file should an issue arise with your booking. Full credit card numbers are not visible on our end.

Should Airbond Travel need to charge a further amount or re-charge a credit card due to an error, then the customer will be notified before any actions are taken.

How information is collected and used for marketing purposes

You can opt to receive emails in HTML form (plain text) by selecting that option using your email service provider or simply choose not to activate the “view/download photos” option, in which case the beacon pixel/analytics software will not be activated.
